The choices that American consumers make will directly affect the quality of lives of factory workers in South East Asia. The voting patterns of one country will directly affect people living in another. Today this manifests itself in many ways. So what exactly is globalization? Internet go-to Wikipedia defines it as “the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture.” In other words, globalization means we’re all connected. What matters is that we recognize how the world is changing, and the implications behind it. 2,000 years ago? 20 years ago? I guess it doesn’t really matter. I’m not sure when this happened, historians can’t even agree. There’s no doubt about it- we are living in an increasingly globalized world.
